Lured by the attraction of surfing Trestles, and by the prestige that comes with a solid performance in the US surf industry’s backyard, a sold-out field is anticipated for both divisions in 2006. Known for its heated competition and excellent conditions, the Body Glove Surfbout has a storied and venerated history. Considered to be one of the world’s most prestigious qualifying events, its winners list reads like a who’s who of the pro surfing world, as the vast majority of past champions have either been current, former or future WCT competitors. Last year, David Weare added his name to that list, and in the tradition of the Surfbout, qualified for his rookie season on the 2006 World Championship Tour.
